Childhood is the most important period,and it is also the initial period of individual socialization.Individuals need complete social support to help them to obtain sufficient resources of socialization in this period.As a special group,left-behind children suffer from "being left behind" during childhood,resulting in self-development problems and social integration issues as their social support have been affected seriously.Therefore,this study will improve the social support levels of left-behind children as the main topic,clarifing their levels of social support status,analyzing the reasons for the low social support levels,improving their social support levels by using case management.This study not only used the way of home visits to investigate the situation of 12 children left-behind in the F community which mesure their social support levels by"social support rating scale",but also used semi-structured interviews and participatory observation.On the one,hand,it can understand the status of their social support levels,on the other hand,it can understand the reasons for the social support of left-behind children.The study found that the social support levels of left-behind chilren are low in general,it specifically demonstrated that the support source is less and the capacities for using of support are weak.After analyzing the reasons,this research found that the reasons for the low levesl of social support include not only the left behind children themselves,but also the family,school and community and so on,but lacking of social support resources is the most important factor.Based on the above investigation,this study selected a typical left-behind children as the client of case management,his social support score is the lowest,and has multiple needs.He fits many characteristics of the case management client so that the author decided to use case management intervention on him.In the process of using case management methods in this study,the client's multiple problems has been solved,such as improving parent-child relationship,counseling client's mood,teaching interpersonal skills,linking resources of community colleges and universities etc.At the end,the intervention improve the client's different social support levels of family,community and the peer.The study also evaluates each part of intervention,assess the effect of the service in the objectives,service and outcomes.Through Summarizing and reflecting on the role of social workers and the practice modes,the research summarizes the experience and short-coming.Finally,it is found that the case management made a difference in improving the levels for social support of the left-behind children,and the study suggests the method can be applied to solve the problems of social support levels of left-behind children in the future.Overrall,social support levels of the left-behind children have been improved effectively in the case management,which can be seen from the effcts and the results of the intervention and case management has become an effective way to improve the social support levels of left-behind children.What plights do case management intervention have?Through the reflection of the case management,the author believes that it's need to combine the main interests of the case with the interests of the organization in order to link more social resources and provide more professional and more comprehensive services for the client in the future.
