The core of mother tongue education is the literature education.The quality of literature education not only directly determines the teaching quality of Chinese discipline,but also has an important influence on the cultivation of moral education and the construction of spiritual civilization of the whole society.In the prevailing period of today's education reform,literature texts occupy an increasingly large proportion in the Chinese textbooks.Thus,the research and reflection for literary knowledge education are very useful and necessary.This paper takes the PEP senior Chinese textbook as the research object,of which the literature education content is analyzed and the deficiencies are summarized.The specific content of the study is divided into the following parts:the analysis of the concept of Chinese textbook compilation.That is to say,opening up,giving full play to students' initiative,integration and inheritance,epochal and moral education.The goals of literature education are proposed,which refer to ability,process,method,emotion,attitude and values.The content of literature education is summarized in detail.The basis of literature education is studied,which are pedagogy base,sociological base,psychology base and the role of literary education in human development.Some studying methods of literary knowledge are summarized.Based on the above research route,this paper expounds the content of the literature education in the teaching material of the PEP senior Chinese.Finally,the PEP senior Chinese textbook and the American language textbook by China women's Publishing House are taken for the horizontal comparison from the aspects of compilation of teaching materials,text content,training purpose and literary knowledge.Several problems existing in the Chinese literature education,which refer to texts selection,exercise setting,writing and so on,are pointed out.Some inspirations for the implementation of literature education are got in the above research.
