In the early 1920s,under the influence of the New Culture Movement and May Fourth Movement,Chunhui High School,a pioneer that started the trend of private school in Zhejiang Province,was founded by Jing Hengyi and Wang Zuo.With a group of excellent teachers and talents,advanced management,and a complete range of equipment,the school led the tide of high school education reform in China.It employed a host of prominent figures in educational circles,especially the "Baimahu" writers group represented by Xia Mianzun and Zhu Ziqing,which helped propel the fame of Chunhui to a huge extent.Those writers not only are highly recognized in modern Chinese literature history,but also sparkled and brightened Chinese teaching practice in Chunhui High School.The paper targets Chunhui High School in the period of Republic of China to conduct a special study on its Chinese teaching and its pragmatic significance.The paper first expounds on the situation of Chinese teaching in early period of Republic of China and the founding of Chunhui High School.Chinese education experienced New Culture Movement and May Fourth Movement in early period of Republic of China.The two movements continuously criticized and also inherited part of traditional education notions,and meanwhile absorbed advanced education concepts from the West.China's high school education during this period show the scene of a is different from other phases have sprung up many prestigious high school,and Chunhui High School is one of the famous high school at the time,is also the most can fully reflect the characteristics of the early high school Chinese education of the republic of China of a high school.The founding of it first reflected the society's imperative demand for modern school education,and then embodied the founders' strong sense of social responsibility and wish to save China and rejuvenate the Chinese nation through education.Then the paper explores the Chinese teaching of Chunhui High School in the period of Republic of China through expounding on the teachers' literature works,personal style,and educational notions.Through advanced teaching concepts,rich course contents,novel teaching methods,and outstanding teaching results,the Chinese teaching practice in this school created outstanding personalized and localized education phenomena-"Chunhui phenomena",embodying democratic,open,personalized and invigorating teaching features.On the basis of the above,the paper summarized the enlightenment from Chunhui High School's Chinese teaching in period of Republic of China:in teaching concepts,teachers should pursue pure and authentic education and return to the essence of education;in professional development,Chinese language teachers are supposed to lead,explore and influence;and in modern Chinese teaching,teachers should "wake up students' linguistic sensitivity" in reading courses,and convey the notion of "writing is living" in writing classes.
