With the globalization,a series of changes have taken place in American education reform from 1950 s to 1980s: the issue of Nation Defense Education Act in 1958 began the pursuit of education quality,the Black Power Movement promoted the development of the education equality,the “Back to Basic” movement in 1970 s became the herald of excellence school reform in 1980 s,and the popularity of conservatism,all these led to the birth of A Nation at Risk.The report produced unprecedented social responsiveness: the federal and the state attached great importance to the development of education,the groups for education set off “The Great School Debate”,some experts and scholars also discussed it,all this improved the universal attention to education.In response to the education crisis,the federal government,state governments,education organizations and civil organizations had put forward the corresponding reform measures,it included the school curriculum reform,students’ ability training reform,teacher team construction and so on,and it achieved some results.Although the reform’s achievements was not significant,but its influence was powerful.
