| This paper mainly studies how to exploit pop music to promote personality development of middle school students.As the survey and study object,these students in adolescence,the prime time for personality cultivation,have great mood swings and are fond in experiencing novel things,and the pop music can help in the process of individuality cultivation.Although the ubiquitous pop music is adored by many,some people still label it with "dicking around" and"vulgar".Indeed,the value of the pop music goes beyond people's thought.Besides,its uniqueness appeals to these students.After study and research,the author finds that middle school students prefer pop music to classical and folk songs because pop music is more acceptable and easier to learn for students of poor performance.With the purpose of improving the personality of middle school students,this paper will develops centering on the analysis of textbooks,students and teachers of pop music.Contents about pop music take up a small share of textbooks,leaving pop music a minor subject;pop songs selected in textbooks are outdated:all these impede pop music to achieve its value.Moreover,the fact that teachers are not good at pop music teaching makes the class boring and tiring.As for students in adolescence,they will have worse aesthetics if they choose vulgar songs.All these mentioned above are bad for the development of pop music education in middle schools,and even for the cultivation of students'personality.The author has done survey and research in some middle schools and analyzed the findings.The author has had interviews and talks with students and teachers,collected and sorted out music textbooks in various versions mainly including textbooks published by The People's Education Press in 2012 and textbooks of Hunan Version.Features of pop music,if used appropriate,are able to mobilize students' enthusiasm and relief their anxiety,promoting the healthy development of students and lay a solid foundation for them. |
