Since 1990s onwards,based on the maximization of children’s interests,more and more children’s welfare institutes have chosen to place orphans into normal family in order to allow them grow better.They even establish foster care projects or foster care office to manage.In recent years,child welfare work has shifted from the material level necessary to meet the physical development of orphans to the spiritual dimension of their physical and mental health development,and then they find that there are many school-age foster children encounter social integration problems.Due to various factors,foster parents care for foster children are mostly confined to eating and dying,only to live,while ignoring the child’s spiritual world and the emotional world of nurturing.This study observes the performance of school-age foster children’s social fusion problem in perceived fusion dimension.The school-age foster children have a weak sense of trust in foster parents and school teachers,weak sense of identity among peers,and weak sense of belonging.Under the ecosystem,the social integration of school-age foster children is reflected in the microscopic system,mesoscopic system,appearance system and macroscopic system.For school-age foster children,including their foster family,the school and community belong to their important micro-system.They are not fragmented,but interrelated.Such as the lack of adequate care and support in the foster family,will bound to show more emotional and behavioral problems in schools,and school education is inseparable from foster families.Although the appearance system is not directly related to the case,but will have an indirect impact on the case,such as foster parents’s age and education and so on.Macro system refers more to the cultural environment of society,such as outlook on life,values and so on。For the more and more school-age foster children encounter social integration problems,this study find the main three reasons through observation,questionnaires and interviews as below:First of all,foster children lack of professional social workers timely psychological counseling.Secondly,foster parents Foster children social integration issues do not attach importance to.In addition,some social prejudices are also one of the causes of foster children’s social integration problems.In this research,the two case work study on two primary school students,a fourth-grade girl and a fifth-grade boy.Primary school stage is in the formation and development of self-concept of the critical period,the social phenomenon and social problems have not yet formed a certain ability to judge.When they feel their physical condition and family structure and the general child is not the same,it is likely to be affected to a certain extent,so that the impact of their values,outlook on life and world view,and even affect their future development and personal choice.After the using of professional case work to intervene in this two cases,the situation of the both children has been significantly improved,their satisfaction of Self-awareness,foster families and schools are improved,also the peer quality is improved.We can make the conclusion that the role of social work in foster care is significantly important.In the final part,conclusion mentioned that the sense of trust,recognition and belonging in the individual’s perceived dimension of school-age foster children is not enough.Foster parents are less concerned about the psychological development of school-age foster children.School-age foster children are disadvantaged in education.There is still lots of space for social work to intervenes in foster care,and the social support network of the school-age foster children is weak.Correspondingly,this study suggests that in order to better assist school-age foster children out of the plight of social integration and adversity,we can take the following five measures:First of all,to strengthen the school-age foster children’s psychological construction,improve their social integration ability.Secondly,to improve foster parents of children and adolescents mental health knowledge training,keep attention to school-age foster children’s social integration problem.Thirdly,to implement the pair-helper system and to put the system into the teacher’s performance appraisal.Fourthly,the child welfare institutions should give social workers suitable stage to play the professional role in daily work.Finally,to integrate social resources and built the social support system for school-age foster children.
