The Outline to the Kindergarten Education(trial use)has proposed,“Teachers can use books,paintings and other forms to stimulate children's interest in books,reading and writing to develop their pre-reading and pre-writing skills.” The picture book,as a literature form of combining pictures and characters,fits the goals and requirements in the outline.The picture book is popular with the majority of children because of its beautiful and unique pictures and simple and interesting content.So a reasonable choice and the use of picture books have a significant influence on children's development.This paper illustrates the criterion of excellent picture books and analyzes the value of the picture books through the literature analysis.On this basis,this study adopts the action research method and selects the taipans of Tianshui E Kindergarten as the research subjects.And this study aims to explore and analyze the effect,the gained experience and the existing problems of using the picture books through the three teaching activities in the field of language teaching in the kindergarten,and provides some effective countermeasures of using the picture books in the field of kindergarten language teaching.The study has found out that children love the teaching method of picture books,and it has a positive effect on children's listening,speaking,reading and writing to some extent.At the same time,some suggestions have been made on the formulation of the activity goal,the selection of the picture books,the design of activities,as well as implementation and evaluation of the activities.However,there are some problems in the process of using the picture books,mainly in the following aspects: the lack of teachers' professional literacy,the lack of understanding of the picture book for teachers,the stereotypical teaching form,and the neglect of children's subject status.Besides,teachers' interpretation of the picture books remains superficial and the teaching method is single.Finally,the paper puts forward the effective measures in the field of kindergarten language: to provide perfect teaching conditions for picture books teaching;teachers should be equipped with solid picture teaching literacy and advanced picture teaching concept;teachers should use flexible picture teaching methods to carry out various forms of extension activities.
