Primary English teaching is the basis of compulsory education.It is a critical period of basic education and also a golden stage to cultivate and create talent.The updated teaching materials are often the most powerful promoters of the new teaching ideas and methods,and also the mainstream teaching methods,teaching ideas and teaching concept of the contemporary foreign languages implied in the teaching materials are the core of the basic English.Teaching materials are the carrier of teaching,and teachers have to complete one's teaching tasks through the implementation of curriculum plans.Moreover teaching materials is the main forms and ways for students to obtain knowledge and skills.In addition,with the promulgation of the relevant education policy and the development of the new curriculum reform,the teaching material market presents a flourishing situation,and the teacher's view of teaching material also affects its effect on the use of teaching materials.Being confronted with the situation of teaching material diversification?changing circumstances and the using level of teaching materials is not satisfactory.Hence,the analysis and research of primary school English teaching materials is extremely necessary.Finally,for the study of primary school English textbooks must be based on summing up the theory and practice research of teaching materials at home and abroad,and also on the basis of complying with China's national conditions,as well as to follow the development of children's cognitive development and psychological characteristics.This dissertation takes these information as the entry point which collects and collates the relevant literature,selects the S and T primary school's teachers and students as the research object,collects the information through the questionnaire and the interview method,and the survey finds there are the following problems : the span between the modules is large,the continuity is not close;the language skills is not balanced,the language's progressive is weak;the integration with other subjects is rarely,less penetration of Eastern and Western culture;students' exercise book were not outstanding,auxiliary resources are not perfect;don't cover the students' learningneeds and including the teaching method are not new;the teaching material's training activities are not comprehensive,the creative use of teaching materials is not in-depth;large class teaching affect the use of teaching materials,the teacher's teaching material view and comprehensive literacy will affect teachers' using level.Based on the problems above,the countermeansures can be drawn as follows:Firstly,in the use of teaching materials: taking on the curriculum standard as blueprint,delving into the teaching material of lawmakers;optimizing the supporting material resources and creating a new auxiliary materials;inviting Easten and Westen teachers to join,keeping up with contemporary students' need.Secondly,at the level of compiling teaching materials: teaching materials' training activities should be practicable,to deepen the teacher's interpretation of teaching materials;to enhance the depth of creative use of materials,to enhance teachers' ability to master teaching materials;updating teachers' teaching concept,improving the overall quality of teachers;to control class size reasonable,to reduce the external factors.Finally,in the selection of teaching materials: pay attention to the different versions of teaching materials;focusing on the analysis and evaluation of teaching materials;summarize the experience on choosing the material.
