In recent years,China has constantly promoted the modern vocational education,which brings a golden opportunity for the development of higher vocational colleges.As a lifeline of management work in higher vocational colleges,student management not only plays a role of guarantee and support in helping higher vocational education to realize the target of talent cultivation.,but also acts as an important piece of work in the development of higher vocational colleges.Today,the post-1990 youngsters have become the subject of students in higher vocational colleges.As the aborigines in the Internet era,their growth experience,personality,ideology and psychological conditions have different characteristics with other students.By contrast,the post-1990 college students are more daring to break the routine and innovate.Moreover,they act as the main force to follow the new technology and the new trend.New Media can be said to come forth on account of the post-1990 youngsters,who are keen on new media and good at using new media.The appearance of new media makes the environment and situation faced by student management become more complex.However,meanwhile new media helps to increase the student management approaches and enrich the management measures.Under the influence of new media — “double-edged sword”,traditional ideas and methods of student management obviously can not adapt to the needs of the student development in the new media era.Therefore,higher vocational colleges must continuously innovate the ideas and working pattern of student management,further realize the organic combination of education,management and service,and arouse students ' initiative,positivity and creativity,with the aim of realizing common development of three aspects of students,teachers and schools.In this paper,four higher vocational colleges of Dongguan are taken as the research scope,which are Dongguan Polytechnic,Guangdong Innovative Technical College,Guangdong ATV Vocational College for the Performing Arts and Guangdong Vocational College of Hotel Management.From the perspective of new media,the paper conducts the research of student management.For one thing,through the study,it is expected to put forward opinions and suggestions for student management of higher vocational colleges;for another,it hopes to provide reference for the construction of new student management model in higher vocational colleges.The first part is the introduction,mainly expounding the research background,significance,research methods,research status at home and abroad,new media,related concepts and characteristics of student management in higher vocational colleges.Meanwhile,this part summarizes the achievements and experiences of student management in higher vocational colleges at home and abroad.The second part is the empirical research.In this process,the first step is to carry on data collection through questionnaire surveys and interviews about the above 4 higher vocational colleges in Dongguan.The next step is to analyze the present situation of student management in the above four higher vocational colleges.The key is to analyze the impact of new media on student management and the means of how these four colleges use new media to carry out student work.The third part is the analysis on the relationship between new media and student management of higher vocational colleges.In addition,it further analyzes the influence of new media on student management and new characteristics of student management under the influence of new media.The fourth part puts forward the new ideas and measures of student management under the perspective of new media,including the innovation of concept and many work measures of student management,such as using new media to carry out the “team”counselor operation,“the Senate System” students self-management,“one-stop” student affairs services and “community system” student apartment management.
