Shyness is a common phenomenon in humans.Zimbardo(1977)found that more than 40% of people thought they are experiencing shyness.Shyness is the feeling of tension,anxiety and discomfort experienced by individuals in certain social situations.As a kind of personality trait,shyness affects many aspects of life.Moderate shyness can be regarded as a normal psychological reaction.Especially in the school environment,the problem of children's shyness is more and more prominent,and more difficulties will be encountered in the process of school adaptation.Therefore,it is important to study the school adaptation of shy children.In the primary school,teacher is an important person in the child's social support system,and its leadership behavior will affect the child's school adaptation.Therefore,the purpose of this study is to explore the relationship between the primary school high-grade student's shyness and school adaptation and to introduce teachers' leadership behavior as the third variable to explore the influence of teachers' leadership behavior on shy children's school adaptation.Firstly,this paper elaborates the domestic and foreigner search results of shyness,and analyzes the current situation and problems of shyness and school adaptation.On this basis,the high school students from two primary schools in Jinan City of Shandong Province were selected as the subjects.Using the method of questionnaire investigation,measurement of Shyness Scale,school adaptation questionnaire and teacher leadership behavior questionnaire,discusses the characteristics and the relationship between primary school high-grade student's shyness,school adaptation and teacher leadership behavior.The conclusions are as follows:(1)The overall level of school adaptation of the primary school students was over moderate,while there were significant gender differences in the conventional adaptation dimension.The boys' school maladjustment was significantly higher than that of the girls.(2)There is a significant positive correlation between shyness and school maladjustment;There is a significant correlation between teacher leadership behavior and school adaptation.There was a significant negative correlation between perceived democratic behavior and school maladjustment,and the authoritative and laissez-faire leadership behavior was positively correlated with the total score of school maladjustment.(3)The teacher leadership behavior and school adaptation in shyness had a significant regulatory role,high democratic leadership style can alleviate the shyness students' school maladjustment,low authority and low laissez-faire teacher leadership behavior can also ease the shyness students' school maladjustment.
