The idea of "learning by doing" was first put forward by Dewey,an American educator.In recent years,this teaching mode has become an important direction in the reform of international education.Biology itself has close to nature,life,it can be called experimental courses.Students should observe,manipulate and think by themselves.In the teaching process,the teacher should guide the students to study independently.So,integrating Dewey's teaching ideas into biology teaching,and carry out the design of biology teaching which based on the "learning by doing",is suitable for the characteristics of biology and the cognitive law of students.It is a kind of teaching idea which is beneficial to the development of students.The main goal of this study is to explore the application of the teaching design based on Dewey's "learning by doing" in biology.To promote the achievement of the new curriculum objectives,summed up a set of effective and efficient teaching methods and means?This paper analyzes the origin and development of Dewey's theory of "learning by doing",which laid the foundation for the application of this theory;through case analysis mainly analyzes Dewey's "learning by doing" examples of teaching theory in the teaching design,which provides reference for biological teaching design;at the same time interviewed middle school biology teachers and other teachers,discussed the feasibility of teaching design and related problems;in the beginning and end of the semester,the students were given two questionnaires.The students' thoughts and learning effects are recorded more realistically.This paper is divided into five parts.The first part mainly analyzes the research background,research significance and research methods,explored the application value of the theory from different angles.The second part is the literature review,including the concept explanation and the development of Dewey's theory of "learning by doing" at home and abroad.The third part is the design and analysis of biology teaching based on Dewey's theory of "learning by doing".Including the preparation of learning activities,the design of learning activities,etc.The fourth part is the teaching design example and analysis,including new teaching and commenting on papers.The five part is the summary and reflection,summarizes the preliminary results and conclusions of this study,reflect the deficiencies and prospects.Biological teaching design based on Dewey's theory of "learning by doing",integrated biological knowledge into life,into practice,and simplified the problem.It can deep students' understanding and mastery of content and culture students' ability.So it is a kind of teaching design which is in accordance with the laws of education and development of students.
