With the continuous development of the media, especially with the "fourth media", the new media has become the main channel for college students to communicate with the society,to exchange ideas and to receive the outside information. New media to meet the students'ideas for people to receive the latest information and communication needs at the same time,the ideology of different media information subtle influence significantly,behavior patterns,mental state, value judgment and, so college students to have certain amounts of good and bad information screening, criticism, interpretation and utilization ability. Visible media literacy education for contemporary college students to form a correct world outlook, outlook on life,values have a very important role. In other words, the media literacy of college students has become one of the important qualities that the contemporary college students have to possess.In this paper, the concept of media literacy education to sort out the specific content of the media literacy education of college students, and to explore the significance of the media literacy education in the context of the new media era. This paper by Harbin Engineering University for example to the utilization of new media of contemporary college students were investigated and the analyse of media literacy education from the perspectives of Ideological and political education emphatically. From the question, analysis problems, to solve the problem of the train of thought to carry on the media literacy education in Colleges and Universities to explore, looking from the point of view of Ideological and political education in Colleges and universities to carry out media literacy education to promote and reference to.
