Research On The Present Situation And Influencing Factors Of Social Workers' Vocational Ability

In the face of the increasing social issues,it is the one of the experts' concerns in the field of social work that how to make social work play its vocational characteristics and functions to solve the social problems and share the government affairs,just like the other occupation did before.Only when the work is vocational,can it develop to the direction of specialization,so as to give full play to its function and professional role.However,China didn't set up the major of social work until 1988.It was only less than 30 years old,so we can't play the role and function of social work to a relative steady status.Compared with other countries,China has lower function and efficiency of Chinese social work,which is caused by the lower degree of the vocationalism of Chinese social work.The main contents of this paper are present situation of vocational ability and its influencing factors.In order to understand the status quo of social workers' vocational ability and to make descriptive statistics,this paper takes the 53 social organizations in Chengdu city as an example and adopts the method of questionnaire survey.It analyzes the factors affecting the status of social workers' vocational ability and proposes the research hypothesis based on the theory of internal and external influence paradigm.Aiming at these influencing factors,it makes structured interview with the investigation objects who were selected before.It also makes inferential statistics which includes some factors as follows: the factors of social workers' gender and age,working life,home location,only child status,monthly salary,education background,social work certificate,marital status,the degree of family support,as well as the general ability,professional ability,special ability which are included in the vocational ability of social workers,so as to deduce the condition that factors affecting the vocational ability of social workers and test the research hypotheses.On this basis,aiming at the restrictive factors in existence,this paper discusses the methods and measures which are suited to improve the vocational ability of social workers in Chengdu,and puts forward some countermeasures and suggestions to promote the vocational ability of social work.The main research conclusions of this paper are as follows: the current situation of vocational ability of social workers in Chengdu is uneven,and the short board is obvious.The social workers have a higher level of general ability and special ability,but relatively lower level of professional ability.In the general ability of social workers,academic factors have significant influence on the stress resistance ability of social workers,which shows the positive correlation between them;the factors of the degree of family support have a remarkable effect on the stress resistance ability of social workers,which is also a positivecorrelation between them.In the professional ability of social workers,academic factors have significant influence on professional ability of social workers,which shows the positive correlation between them;the professional background also has a remarkable effect on the professional ability of social workers,which means the closer between the professional background and social work of social workers,the stronger of their professional ability;the condition whether they have certificate has a significant influence on their professional ability,which is also a positive correlation between them.In the special ability of social workers,the special ability is significantly affected by the gender,and the current situation of female social workers' special ability is apparently higher than that of male social workers.
