Research On Hu Binxia Women's Education Thoughts And Practice

Ms.Hu Binxia,born in Wuxi,Jiangsu Province,also known as famous women educator and women's liberation pioneer at the Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China.Her career had been involved in many fields,and always center on the women's education.At the primary stage of Chinese modern women's education,Hu Binxia focused on advocating women's education and promoting women's subject consciousness awakening,and became a women education activist.However,such a great pioneer of women's education is little-known now.In view of this,the author used the methods of literature study and biography todig and analysis the relevant historical materials of Hu Binxia's educational thoughts and practice to understand the background of current research and research situation about Hu Binxia women's education thought and practice combined with existing research results.Hu Binxia was born in the educational family of the Hu family.Thanks to the social atmosphere of the southern Jiangsu culture and enlightened family culture,she had two times to study abroad when she was young and benefited from the new education.Based on such a growth experience,in the demands of the times,she combined the ideal of saving the country with the women education,then her career of women's education was opened.In the women's education thought: firstly,Hu Binxia located the education goal from the "female national" to "the twentieth century new woman",that not only indicated the rich and change of the educational goal's connotation,but also witnessed Hu Binxia's individual growth;secondly,the content of education involved women,occupation and family aspects,and Hu Binxia made a detailed explanation about women accepting education and how to accept the education;Finally,she advocated the education principles of "education in teaching" and "theory with practice" to achieve a multiplier effect.In the educational practice: Firstly,Hu Binxia served as "female newspaper people",organized group activities,etc.And that promoted the spread of women's education ideas effectively;secondly,she has taught many secondary schools and participated in the management of university,and showed the leadership of women.Finally,she focused on the communication of education at home and abroad to broaden her vision,and on this basis,she concerned about the development of children and promoted the pre-school education research in a certain extent.After carding and analyzing the relevant historical materials of Hu Binxia's education and practice,the author found a conclusion: In the initial stage of modern female education,Hu Binxia was not afraid of the patriarchal society and the national crisis,and dared to speak for women.And that promoted the spread of women's education thoughts effectively at thattime.In the practice of "twentieth Century new woman",she also became an outstanding representative of new women.However,as a "generalists",Hu Binxia's career involved many fields,so she may have some limitations in some aspects.Although Hu had made outstanding contributions to the promotion of modern women's education thoughts and the awakening of women's subjective consciousness,there are also some education thoughts is not strong enough,which had some limitations.In view of this,re-examining Hu Binxia and her educational thoughts and summarizing the wisdom and experience of predecessors will benefit to women's education and women's development today.
