With the gradual deepening of the reform of basic courses, students' comprehensive ability to use language has been paid more and more attention. Situational teaching method is a teaching method based on language cognition. It attaches importance to the practical application of language in life. It has the characteristics of intuition and scene,which can help students to know the language knowledge correctly. Therefore, the application of situational approach in English Teaching in senior high school is very common. In this paper, we use the questionnaires, the classroom observations and interviews to present the problems in the high school situational English teaching. In view of the problem, this paper puts forward the corresponding improvement strategies,hoping to improve the effectiveness of high school English classroom.Situation is a scene or environment, including the real situation, the imaginary situation and the implied situation. Situational teaching is the use of the creation of a special scene in a certain class of teaching, in which the students can complete the cognitive behavior , improve their divergent thinking and cultivate their feelings. The high school Situational English teaching mainly refers to the teachers, who use the textbooks to combine with the development characteristics of high school students, use the creation of the actual social life which is close to the real situation to arouse the students' emotion cognition to improve the learning enthusiasm of the teaching mode.Situational teaching in senior high school English teaching can not only improve the efficiency of English class, cultivate students' practical ability, but also improve their learning initiative.In the context of the new curriculum, the use of situational teaching in high school English class is very common. Through the questionnaire survey, I found that senior high school English teachers in order to achieve a good effect of English learning, have realized the necessity of using Situational Teaching Method, and have used the interactive and imaginay situational teaching in the grammar and listening course to improve the learning interest of the students, which let students love the situational teaching in the senior middle school English course. However, the use of high school English classroom Situational Teaching Method also has some problems, such as situational authenticity is not sufficient, the interest is not strong, level is not clear, lack of vitality, lack of communicative language development etc..To solve the above problems, we should first start from the problem of life and build a real scene in the high school English classroom, using music, movies, multimedia and role-playing to create situation in order to enhance the interest of teaching from the situation, provide a good classroom atmosphere and deepen the teaching level; using tasks and group cooperation to strengthen teacher-student interaction communication in the classroom; using cultural context to expand their horizons.
