With the development of science and technology as well as the deepened curriculum reform,the mode of English teaching also changes with educators and teachers thinking and researching,however,there still exists a lot of teaching problems along the teaching process,such as the students' bad attitude to English learning,the insufficient class effectiveness.In 2007,American Woody Senior High School AaronSams&Jonathan Bergamnn started the "flipped class" and drew a wide attention.This new teaching mode has totally subverted the traditional teaching mode,and what used to be classwork(the"lecture")is done at home via teacher-created videos and what used to be homework(assigned problems)is now done in class.The roles of teachers and students have changed a lot.Teachers are no longer the center of the class,while the students truly decide how the class goes.They are not passive receiver,but active learner.Therefore,the corresponding teaching and learning becomes a reality.This thesis is aimed to find whether the "flipped class" has a better impact on the English learning and teaching than the traditional class and the advantages and disadvantages of it with the help of an experiment conducted in Class 9 and 10 Grade 1 respectively using the traditional class and the "flipped class" in Shenyang Senior High Middle School.Besides,with the help of questionnaires and interviews,the researcher can analyze the changes in attitude in English learning and teaching,thus,better teaching and learning ways can be found.During the two months experiment,the researcher performs two exams before and after the experiments and two questionnaires,including ten students for interviews.From the study,conclusions can be made as follows:the experimental class and the control class are in the same level before the experiment,while after the experiment,the academic performance of the experimental class changes more and better,changes and the data and results from the questionnaires and interviews also show that the researcher learns that the "flipped class" is accepted and appreciated by most students and there lies a lot of advantages compared with the traditional one,especially over the students' learning attitude and interest.Meanwhile,the effectiveness and efficiency of English class change a lot,together with the involvement of the students,the cooperation among students.Generally speaking,although there are still some aspects and room to change and improve,the "flipped class" has an overall impact on the Senior High school English learning and teaching,nevertheless,we will continue to record more highly qualified materials and videos and to form more reasonable learning habits to improve the students active self-learning,only in this way can we promote and spread the "flipped class" in China.
