Because of Khan Academy, flipped class model becomes world-famous. In the tradition class, teachers impart knowledge to students and students internalize knowledge by doing homework after class while in a flipped class, knowledge is imparted before class by the students themselves and knowledge internalization happens in class. The research about flipped class model begins in 2007 in America. In China, there has been little research about flipped class model, especially in junior high school. The subjects of the study are Grade 2 students from the same level in a junior high school in Suzhou. The study aims to answer the two questions below:1) Will flipped class model promote the English learning in junior high school?2) Are there any differences between students of different levels as regards the effectiveness of flipped class model in junior high school English teaching? If yes, what are they? The results of the study are summarized in three different perspectives. The first is about the scores the students of the experimental class get from the end of last term and this term compared to those of students of the control class. The second is about the results of the questionnaires the students do. The last is about the results of research of 9 representative students from the experimental class. The results show that flipped class model definitely promotes the English teaching in junior high school, but to different levels of students, the effects are different. This study will, hopefully, make a difference to the future study in the English teaching in junior high school.
