The China's moral education of citizens has continuously developed and improved since the 18 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China put forward the core socialist values.The core socialist values propose higher request for the moral quality of young students.Strengthening the moral education of the young is fundamental to the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.The relationship between China and Japan has a profound historical origin.One of the indiscerptible reasons of Japan's rapid rise after World War II is the deep understanding and vigorously reform of moral education,which improved the national quality and became the cornerstone for the reconstruction of the society.This thesis utilizes comparative analysis,literature research and other methods.By analyzing the course objectives,contents and implementation mode of moral education curriculum in Chinese and Japanese primary school education,family education and social education,the paper compares the similarities and differences in moral education for pupils between China and Japan.In China,the moral education curriculum at primary schools includes labor hygiene,morality,ideology and politics,legal system,history,ability,geography,science,nationality and values,involving almost all aspects in our daily life to provide guidance for any problem children may encounter.The family education and social education reflected from the social phenomenon demonstrates a lot of shortcomings.For example,some family education gives the priority to academic performance,but lacks the cultivation of good habits.The infrastructure for social education is not perfect,and there are not enough places to carry out extracurricular moral education for pupils.Japan promotes the spiritual education for primary students,focusing on the development of children's personality and fulfil ment,and emphasizes the practice to cultivate children's independence.There is close connection among schools,families and society,forming a linkage model to provide a good morality educational environment for children.At the same time,Japan's detours in moral education,such as militarism education,youth "education deserted",ten-year "relaxed education",also warns us not to go astray in moral education.Through the comparative study of moral education at primary schools in China and Japan,this paper provides useful experience from Japan and proposes more suggestions for the moral education at primary schools in China.This paper puts forward the following aspects about the moral education for primary schools in our country: to make moral education focus on the moral practice;to achieve the unity of knowledge and practice;to build the benign interaction among school,society and family and strengthen their educational connection;to carry forward the traditional family virtues of the Chinese nation;to enrich the infrastructure construction,and to provide a broader platform for the development of moral education.The significance of this study is to explore the ways of improving the quality of primary schools' moral education by comparing the differences between the moral education at primary schools in China and Japan,to learn from the advantages of Japan in moral education,and to make more progress in the implementation of socialist core values through the unity of knowledge and action.
