The teacher is not only the core resource in the development of colleges and universities,but also the important factor affecting the cultivation of talents,as well as the foundation and the guarantee of education.Promoting the professional development of teachers is the need of teachers' self construction and the only way for the sustainable development of colleges and universities.There are many paths to promote teachers' professional development,the scholarship of teaching is one of them.As a new academic paradigm,the scholarship of teaching expands the academic connotation and provides a new perspective for teachers' professional development.This paper combines the relationship between the teaching scholarship and teachers' professional development,which based on their literature research.Through the present situation investigation of college teachers' teaching scholarship,this paper discusses the path of promoting teachers' professional development from the perspective of teaching scholarship.Firstly,in this paper,the relevant theories are expounded,the basic content of teacher professional development is expounded,and the basic qualities of teaching scholarship are put forward: teaching scholarship knowledge,teaching scholarship ability,teaching scholarship research achievement and teaching scholarship public evaluation and communication.This paper also points out that teaching scholarship is of great value to promote teachers' professional development.It is an important path for teachers' professional development.Secondly,through questionnaires and interviews,this paper investigates the current situation of the college teachers' teaching scholarship.It is found that there are many problems in the development of teaching scholarship in universities: the teaching scholarship recognition is not high;a considerable number of teachers lack of teaching scholarship knowledge and ability;quite a few teachers lack of published and applied teaching scholarship research findings,and rarely engaged in teaching scholarship exchanges and mutual assessment.From the perspective of teaching scholarship,teachers' professional development is facing some problems: the professional development scope is narrowed;the development content is imbalanced;the development momentum is limited;the development autonomy is not reflected.Finally,this paper try to explore the strategy of improving teaching scholarship,such as setting up the concept of “teaching is a kind of academic”,building a scientific academic system and reasonable teacher development system,taking various measures to promote the teaching scholarship.
