In this paper,literature,statistics and comparative analysis methods are adopted to analyze two sets of Thai junior Chinese textbooks named Experiencing Chinese and Chuangzhi Chinese.The author of this paper compares the textbooks structure,phonetic teaching design,vocabulary teaching design and multiple intelligence activities design in terms of textbook compiling principles including country-specific requirements and pertinence for age.In this way,the author explores the advantages and disadvantages of the textbooks and put forward some suggestions for improving them.This paper includes seven chapters.In the first chapter,the author introduces the topic of this paper,research background,objects,methods,and significance,as well as the significance and basic principles of evaluating textbooks.In the second chapter,the author compares and analyses the textbook structure of each volume textbook and each lesson,analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of these textbooks in terms of textbook compiling principles and proposes suggestions for compiling these books.In the third chapter,the author compares and analyzes the phonetic teaching design of the two sets of textbooks and explores the advantages and disadvantages of them in terms of phonetic teaching principles,country-specific requirements and pertinence for age.In the fourth chapter,the author compares and analyzes the vocabulary of the two sets of textbooks,and the vocabulary of each volume of them,word frequency of them and the number of words not listed in syllabus of word.And then,the advantages and disadvantages of these textbooks are explored in terms of vocabulary teaching principles,country-specific requirements and pertinence for age and suggestions are proposed for improving both sets of these textbooks.In the fifth chapter,the author compares and analyzes what kinds of multiple intelligence activities designed in these textbooks and analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of these books in terms of compiling principles including country-specific requirements and requirement for pertinence for age,putting forward some suggestions for improving both of sets of the books.In the sixth chapter,the author evaluates these textbooks and summarizes the suggestions for compiling them.In the seventh chapter,the author summarizes the advantages and disadvantages of the two sets of textbooks,the significance and shortcomings of this study and the direction of further study.
