| STEAM education is the education mode of cultivating future comprehensive talents,which guides students to adopt the way of subject fusion and to solve problems in real situations by using interdisciplinary thinking.This study attempts to investigate the effects of STEAM teaching activities on the multiple intelligences of children in the middle classes of kindergartens and to put forward practical suggestions for teachers to carry out STEAM teaching activities in kindergartens.In this study,60 children in Shanghai X kindergarten were randomly selected from two middle classes: experimental group and control group.STEAM teaching activities were conducted for three months in the experimental group,while in the control group,routine one-day kindergarten teaching activities were still carried out.After the experimental intervention,the children of the experimental group and the control group were tested before and after the experiment,and the development of the four dimensions of multiple intelligences in the experimental group was understood.SPSS19.0 software was used to analyze the raw data collected from the observation scale.In addition,the author conducted interviews with five teachers who participated in this study,and made a qualitative analysis on the development of multiple intelligences of middle class children after the implementation of STEAM teaching activities.The main conclusions of this study are as follows: 1)STEAM teaching activities are beneficial to the development of multiple intelligences of middle class children;2)it is feasible to construct a set of STEAM activity teaching programs that can be implemented in middle classes of kindergartens.This study puts forward the following suggestions: 1)Paying attention to the role of "Arts" in STEAM Education in Kindergarten.2)applying STEAM teaching activities to individualized teaching.3)strengthening the relevant training of STEAM education for kindergarten teachers. |
