The students with “learning difficulties” have attracted much social attention.The existence of such students casts negative impact on the educational quality of schools.Moreover,“learning difficulties” tend to result in psychological problems.The students who suffer from learning difficulties may become “problem children”.When such students drop out of school and enter the society at a young age,they may probably incur social instabilities.Due to the shortage of educational resources in China,traditional school education could not solve this problem fundamentally.This thesis focuses on the perspective of social work.Assisted by the schools,the researcher provides guidance and assistance to some students from grade three and four in Jingyue Experimental Primary School,who are with learning difficulties.The research mainly adopts the theories of ecological system and advantage perspective to intervene with the students.In the research,according to the students' current academic performance,their universal difficulties and the need analysis,the researcher plans on seven group work projects,including games,discussions,experience sharing and video watching,etc.The activities guide the students to discover on their own advantages,improve their interest in learning and help them to develop proper learning habits and learning attitudes.The activities also improve the students' learning environment as well as their learning abilities,and the helped these students to improve school performance.By social work practice,this research explores effective methods to solve the problem of learning difficulties.In detail,ecological system theory is applied to transform the students with learning difficulties.Its focuses on examining the interaction between the students and the different systems in the environment and the impact of the environment on students behavior.By observing students' problems in the context,the researcher seeks to find out the reasons and causes from the environment.The social work volunteers provide assistance to students through the students' family,teachers and environment.On the other hand,advantage perspective theory is also applied to transform the students with learning difficulties,which discovers,seeks and utilizes the advantage and resources owned by the students with learning difficulties.By motivating the students' initiatives,the researcher explores and inspires their potentials and improve their learning abilities.The results prove that to assist the students with learning difficulties from the perspective of social work practices could effectively solve the issues related to the students with learning difficulties,since the appraisal on the group work activities has turned out with apparent progress made by the subjects of this social work service.
