The thesis aims to investigate English learning motivation of senior one students.The author analyzed the reasons of students lack of learning motivation by questionnaire and put forward the relevant strategies which can be adopted in the future teaching.There are five chapters in the thesis.Chapter one describes the background and significance of research.In this chapter,the author also introduces the content and objectives of the research.Chapter two talks about the definition of motivation and learning motivation.The author mentions the classification of learning motivation.in this chapter,the current research situations abroad and at home are listed.The author focuses mainly on the theoretical basis of the research,and three dominant theories are mentioned here.In chapter three,a questionnaire was conducted on the students? learning motivation.By analyzing the data,the author got the conclusion that students in grade one,senior attached middle school of Gannan Normal University lack of learning motivation.Then the author continued to list the reasons.On the basis of the final results,the author put forward the relevant strategies to be adopted in classroom.Chapter four will be an experiment to test the effect of the strategies.Two groups of students participated in the experiment.By comparing the performance before and after the test,the author found that the experimented group performed better than the controlled group,which indicated that the strategies were effective.Chapter five will be a conclusive part,in which the author listed the main findings.At the same time,the author pointed out the limitations of the research and put forward some suggestion for future classroom teaching.
