With the continuous growth of outward degree of China's economy,English learning has been attachedgreat attention day by day.Game teaching helps children build a good teacher-student,students and studentsrelationship,meanwhile,to help them strengthen the use of English knowledge and form a good drilling effect.as fresh blood for English novice teachers integrating into education,which teaching level directly affects childrens' English learning.With the gradual conformityof diversified game teaching in the classroom of primary school English novice teachers,the problems of novice teachers in game teaching are increasingly prominent.The purpose of this study is to explore the overall status of English novice teachers in primary school in Urumqi.Methodologies: classroom observation,questionnaires,interviews and case study.Initially,36 classes were observed in the primary school“A” of Urumqi,recording details of game teaching;Secondly,students were issued 271 questionnaires in three primary schools,254 were took back with the recovery rate of 93.7% which effective number is 231,and efficiency amounts to 85.2%,teachers are issued 30 questionnaires simultaneously which all questionnaires are recovered and both of them were effective,Moreover,semi-structured interviews which aimed at 16 novice teachers of 3 primary schools(including 2 graduate trainees)were implemented;Finally,typical characteristics of novice and expert teachers had been selected to used for case study.This study aimed at investigating the following five dimensions such asthe level of understanding of novice teachers in game teaching,the usage rate,novice teachers' game types,the term for using purposes of novice teachers in game teaching andtypes of encouragement for participation ofnovice teachers,through which conclusions will be given to analyze the overall situation of game teaching for novice teachers and the level situation of different genders and grades in participating the games will also be presented.Results:Totally,1)the popularity of game teaching for primary English teachers in Urumqi is accounting for 76.6% which is not as good as expected and there is great difference between urban and rural areas.2)the understanding level in rural is only 65.6% and the way of acquaintance is mainly through share between colleagues and novice teachers are needed to be promoted.3)The game amount decreases with the increasing grades sections,ratio of boys toparticipating in games is 9.2 percentage lower than girls.4)from the perspective of comparison with expert teachers,the games of novice teachers' are more diverse and the amount of game is larger,but the control ability and game integrity of the game class is still a certain gap compared with expert teachers.Some suggestions such as the promoting of acquaintance degree,proper classifications of the game,Sex ratio in taking part in the different games,game language.The inspiration from the proficient teachers will be put forward according to the research results above.
