Amendment And Application On Quality Of Life Scale For Chinese Children With Intellectual Disability

Objectives:Using the classical test theory and item response theory,the items of the common part of the quality of life scale for disabled children,and the quality of life scale for Chinese children with intellectual disability was built.The reliability and validity of the scale was evaluated.Then the quality of life of intellectual disabled children in Shanxi Province and their influencing factors was explored.Methods:1?The method of variation coefficient,factor analysis and item response theory were used to analyze the items of common scale for disabled children,and to form the quality of life scale for Chinses children with intellectual disability.2?The split-half reliability and Cronbacha were used to analyze the reliability.The content validity,the dimension correlation and confirmatory factor were used to analyze the validity.3?The descriptive analysis was used to analyze the present situation of the quality of life of intellectual disabled children.One factor analysis and multiple factors analysis were used to explore the influence factor of the quality of lifeResults:1?The classical measurement theory and item response theory were used to analyze scale items,and to form the quality of life scale for Chinese children with intellectual disability consisting of five dimensions with 32 items.2 ? The quality of life scale for Chinese children with intellectual disability:(1)Reliability: The split-half reliability of the scale was 0.554,and the Cronbach a was0.855.(2)Validity: The experts in related fields help us to select and revise the quality of life scale for Chinese children with intellectual disability.The correlation coefficient between the items and their fields were greater than that of items and other fields;in confirmatory factors results,it showed that all indexes were almost 0.90 except for the scale(NFI = 0.84).The modified scale model had the good structure validity;(3)Feasibility : It could be accepted by intellectual disabilities,which could be sure to complete within 20 minutes.3?The item splits of Physiological functions field and Emotional function field were close to 4,the item splits of Social function field and Role function field were close to 3;the item split of Children with disabilities general module field was 2.69,It showed that the overall quality of life for intellectual disabled children was low(3.32).The influence factors of quality of life or its each dimension scores were genders,the resident differences,disabled people in the family,the different medical insurance,disability degree.Conclusions:The QOL scale for intellectual disabled children was formed,which has good reliability,validity and feasibility.Total quality of life of intellectual disabled children in Shanxi province was low,and the influencing factors on the life quality of intellectual disabled children were complicated.
