A Study On Refereeing Conflicts Of Referees In Chinese Basketball Association

One main problem that referees,coaches and players of Chinese Basketball Association(CBA)have to face is the refereeing conflict of basketball referees;moreover,the referees in CBA should attach more importance to the problem.In addition,the refereeing conflict can be caused by complicated factors.It can appear in any part,such as between the referees,the referees and the coaches,the referees and the players,even the referees and the audiences.The conflict is also one of the factors that conduct adverse social influence.On the basis of conflict theory to elaborate every factor to the conflicts,this study will help the referees and the players rationally face the refereeing conflicts.Besides,it also contributes to constructing a harmonious competition.This study adopted the research methods of documentation,questionnaires and interviews to analyze the current situation of refereeing conflicts.The factors to the conflicts between the referees,the referees and the coaches,the referees and the players,as well as the referees and the audiences have been pointed out.Besides,based on conflict theory,the measures on solving these conflicts were also presented in the current study.The major findings are as follows:1.At present,facing more complicated racing conditions,more refereeing conflicts could appear in CBA.There are many disharmonious phenomena on court.For instance,the referees are suspicious of each other;the coaches question the sentences of the referees;the players defy the sentences of the referees;the audiences revile the referees,etc.2.The main causes of the conflicts between the referees contain interpersonal relationship,spot communication and referee class.3.The main causes of the conflicts between the referees and the coaches include interest relationship,refereeing ability,scoring table,communication,disrespect,environment and rule understanding.4.The main causes of the conflicts between the referees and the players include interest relationship,refereeing ability,rule understanding and environment.5.The main causes of the conflicts between the referees and the audiences contain environment,rule understanding,cultural differences,the referee itself,motivation of spectators,over commitment and public opinions.
