Objective:To construct a professional ability questionnaire and examine its reliability and validity,in order to provide a reliable and valid measure of professional ability among professional master graduate student.To explore the main influence factors of employment pressure and professional ability in professional master graduate student,focus on the level and relationship among employment pressure,core-self evaluation and professional ability of them.To test a hypothesis that perceived core-self evaluation mediates between employment pressure and professional ability.In order to improve the the competence of core-self evaluation,improve the professional ability and further alleviate its employment pressure as well as provide valuable theoretical basis for professional master graduate student.Methods:1.After extensive studies on contemporary literatures,do interviews of professional ability on postgraduate,setting up theory framework of professional ability among postgraduate.Establish the original items of professional ability after investigated with a half-opened questionnaire,and discuss the theory framework and the original items by expert method.Then establish the item pools and develop the professional ability questionnaire.The items were re-screened by such indexes as item discrimination,exploratory factor analysis.The content validity index(CVI),construct validity,Cronbach's? coefficient,confirmatory factor analysis,was used to evaluate the validity and the reliability of the professional ability questionnaire.2.A total of 880 professional master graduate student in colleges and universities were investigated with cross-sectional survey by using employment pressure questionnaire,core self-evaluations scale,and professional ability questionnaire,to test the employment pressure,core-self evaluation,professional ability and coping style of professional master graduate.Data were processed using SPSS(Statistical Package for the Social Sciences)19.0software.Data were analyzed by descriptive study,variance analysis and interactive analysis.Pearson correlation techniques were used to examine the relationship between employment pressure,core-self evaluation and professional ability;Multiple stepwise regression were used to examine the influence factors of a employment pressure,core-self evaluation and professional ability;the proposed hypothesis was tested by structural equation model.Results:1.The professional ability questionnaire includes 27 items and 5 subscales: planning and learning ability,self-management ability,gumption and initiative,social and communication skills,problem solving ability.The Cronbach's ? of total scale was 0.928,and subscales were 0.708~0.829.The correlation coefficients among factors were0.405~0.664(p<0.01),and correlation coefficients of total scale scores and each factor were 0.734~0.882(p<0.01).According to the results of confirmatory factor analysis,?2/df<5,NFI?RFI?IFI?TLI?CFI are all close to or larger than 0.90,RMSEA<0.06,PNFI and PCFI are all greater than0.5.The professional ability questionnaire has good reliability and validity.2.In the aspect of employment pressure,the average score of employment pressure in professional master graduate was 2.89±0.655.The employment pressure of professional master graduate student is in the medium level.Girl's score is significantly higher than boy's.Graduates that above 26 ages is significantly lower than graduates under 26 ages.Graduate's score from town is significantly higher than graduate's from city.Graduate who do not love the major is significantly higher than graduate who loves.Graduate who has an unclear view of career is significantly higher than graduate who has a clear career planning.The interaction effect between professional attitude and research consciousness is significant.The interaction effect between marital status and research consciousness is significant.3.In the aspect of professional ability,the average score of professional ability in professional master graduate was 3.51±0.583.The professional ability of professional master graduate student is above the medium level.Girl's score is significantly higher than boy's.The third-year graduate student's score is significantly higher than fresh graduate student.Graduate who loves the major is significantly higher than graduate who do not.Graduate who has a clear career planning is significantly higher than graduate who has an unclear view of career.Graduate who has strong research consciousness is significantly higher than graduate who has weak research consciousness.The interaction effect between age and non-single child is significant.4.In the aspect of core-self evaluation,the average score of core-self evaluation in professional master graduate was 3.15±0.499.The core-self evaluation of professional master graduate student is in the medium level.Girl's score is significantly higher than boy's.Graduate's score from town is significantly higher than graduate's from city.Graduate who loves the major is significantly higher than graduate who do not.Graduate who has a clear career planning is significantly higher than graduate who has an unclear view of career.Graduate who has strong research consciousness is significantly higher than graduate who has weak research consciousness.5.There is an intimate relation among professional master graduate's employment pressure,core-self evaluation and professional ability.Professional master graduate's professional ability was correlated with the employment pressure(r=-0.086,p<0.05),was positive correlated with core-self evaluation(r=0.258,p<0.01),the ability of core-self evaluation was negatively correlated with employment pressure(r=-0.192,p<0.01).In the same conditions of professional ability,the employment pressure of high core-self evaluation is significantly lower than the employment pressure of low core-self evaluation group(t=3.442,p<0.01).Path analysis showed that both the level of professional ability(?=-0.164,p<0.01)and core-self evaluation(?=-0.228,p<0.01)had directly effects on employment pressure of professional master graduate student,core-self evaluation mediated the relationship between employment pressure and professional ability(?=-0.056,p<0.05),the mediation effect accounted for 25.5% of the total effects.Conclusions1.The professional ability questionnaire is a reliable and valid measure of professional ability among graduate student.2.The level of core-self evaluation and employment pressure in professional master graduate student was moderate,and the level of professional ability above average.3.The influence factors of professional ability were gender,grade,professional attitude,career planning,research consciousness.The influence factors of core-self evaluation were gender,grade,age,native place,professional attitude,career planning.The influence factors of employment pressure were gender,age,native place,professional attitude,career planning.In the aspect of employment pressure,the interaction effect between professional attitude and research consciousness,marital status and research consciousness are significant.In the aspect of professional ability,the interaction effect between age and non-single child are significant.4.The level of professional ability was negatively correlated with employment pressure of professional master graduate student,the level of core-self evaluation was negatively correlated with employment pressure,the level of professional ability in professional master graduate student significantly positivly correlated with core-self evaluation.In the same conditions of professional ability,the employment pressure of high core-self evaluation is significantly lower than the employment pressure of low core-self evaluation group.5.Core-self evaluation could partly mediate between employment pressure and professional ability.Professional ability could negatively predict employment pressure,core-self evaluation could negatively predict employment pressure,and professional ability could positively predict core-self evaluation.Increase the level of professional ability and core-self evaluation of professional master graduate student could reduce the employment pressure.
