With economic globalization, the foreign trade of aquatic products is an important symbol and means of implementation for the development of China's agricultural products trade. With abundant natural resources and labor resources, aquaculture in China has maintained a good momentum of development.Since 1989,China has ranked first in the world aquatic products producing countries for many years.Aquatic products are also one of the most international competitive advantage products in China's agricultural products. However, the resource endowment coefficient of China's aquatic products is declining year by year, and the status of China's aquatic products trading power is being threatened. The development of aquatic products trade is of great significance to the implementation of China's food security, the implementation of marine strategy, the adjustment of agricultural trade structure and the allocation of aquatic resources. Therefore,it is necessary to explore the influence factors on the development of aquatic products trade.Summary of the existing literature found that many scholars have studied the impact factors of aquatic products trade, but no attention has been paid to the factors of population aging. However, the aging population,as one of the main trends in China in twenty-first Century, the aggravation of the population aging will change the distribution of factors of aquatic products, affecting the comparative advantages of aquatic products trade, thus changes the trade scale and the trade structure of aquatic product.Based on this, this paper will discuss the relationship between population aging and the import and export of aquatic products from both theoretical and empirical perspectives. This thesis consists of six chapters.Focused on the aging population and the import and export of chinese aquatic products, and on the basis of understanding the especial relationship between the two,we used the existing theoretical achievements and establish a framework. Then designed and selected the relation varable or index, searched the data we needed in the study.By establishing the empirical model,we demonstrated the long-term and short-term effects of population aging on the scale and structure of aquatic products import and export by using the annual time-series data from 1992 to 2014 in China. The results show that:(1)Population aging has a positive effect on the export of aquatic products. Its positive impact on the deep processing of aquatic products exports greater than the primary processing of aquatic products.(2)Populationaging has a negative effect on the import amount of aquatic products and has a positive effect on the import of aquatic products. Its positive impact on the primary processing of aquatic products imports is more than the deep processing of aquatic products. This is related to the import structure of aquatic products in China.(3)The interaction between aging and other factors will positively affect the import and export volume of aquatic products as well as the import and export value of primary processing and deep processing aquatic products if they deviate from the long-term equilibrium. On the basis of the analysis of empirical results, the corresponding countermeasures and suggestions are put forward.
