It is the critical period for students to grow and develop in primary school.As one of the most important relationship in primary school,teacher-student relationship makes great effects on pupils' growing and developing.This paper investigated the current situations of teacher-student relationship and academic emotions,and their effects on pupils' academic procrastination.In this study,we assume that teacher-student relationship can influence pupils' academic emotions,and then influence their academic procrastination.We investigated 170 pupils in Grade 2 to Grade 6 from Ningbo and got following conclusions.First of all,primary school students have a harmonious relationship with teachers.However,some factors can influence teacher-student relationship significantly.For example,the difference between only children and non-only children is significant.The only children got higher scores on closeness.The teacher-student relationship of Class leaders is better than the other students.Significant grade differences are observed in closeness and satisfaction.Pupils in Grade Six have less closeness and satisfaction with their teachers.Secondly,in general,primary school students have less negative academic emotions and more positive academic emotions.Significant grade differences are observed in positive-low arousal emotions and negative-high arousal emotions.The higher grade pupils are more anxious than the lower grade pupils.Class leaders have more positive academic emotions than the other students.Thirdly,the study about academic procrastination showed that: Pupils' academic procrastination on finishing learning tasks as planned was most serious.Boys got higher scores on academic procrastination than girls.The academic procrastination of Non-Class leaders' is significantly more serious than the Class leaders.Finally,the most important conclusions of all are as following:(1)Positive teacher-student relationship produces positive academic emotions,moreover negative teacher-student relationship causes negative academic emotions.(2)Academic emotion will make effects on academic procrastination.Positive-low arousal emotions and academic procrastination are negatively correlated;negative academic emotions and academic procrastination are positively correlated.(3)Between teacher-student relationship and academic procrastination,primary school students' academic emotions play a mediating role.Furthermore,between teacher-student relationship and academic procrastination,positive-low arousal emotions,negative-high arousal emotions and negative-low arousal emotions are fully mediated.The conclusions of this study helped us know pupils' current social communication situations and learning situations well.It has the important significance in theory and practice on how to improve the teacher-student relationship,improve the academic emotions and reduce academic procrastination.
