This study compiled means of literature indexing,questionnaire,and interviews.Among which,a questionnaire titled "Questionnaire on nursery rhyme adoption in Xuzhou's kindergartens " was applied.The first draft of the questionnaire was tested in 8 kindergartens of Xuzhou to check its reliability and validity.The investigation was then carried out on teachers from 18 sampled kindergartens(7 public kindergartens and 11 private kindergartens).263 copies of formal questionnaire were distributed,of which,246 questionnaires are valid(93.54% of the total).The statistics were later processed through descriptive analysis,Pearson correlation coefficient(Person Correlation)analysis and One-way ANOVA analysis.Scheffe method was also used to collect data on preschool teachers' perception on nursery rhymes,factual nursery rhymes activities,and the related influence factors.The researcher also conducted a non participant observation in kindergarten for nine weeks and did an interview with six teachers.By means of questionnaire,observation and interview,this study aimed to explore the teachers' perception on nursery rhymes' application,the relation between teachers' teaching and children's learning,as well as the factors that influence the adoption rate.The conclusions were drew as follows:First,most of the teachers could understand correctly on the function of nursery rhymes.It is suitable for children's physical and mental requirements of comprehensive development.However,some unreasonable problems also exist in the aspects of comprehensive understanding of its educational function,some teachers' self assessment on teaching nursery rhymes,etc.Second,the status of the actual application of nursery rhymes in Kindergartens in Xuzhou is far from satisfying.There are many unreasonable problems,such as: the quality is unsatisfying,the frequency is low,and the variety of material is limited.The types of activities are old and dull.As a result,the real goal of teaching is not ideal.Third,the overall situation of the application of nursery rhymes in Xuzhou is reasonable,but there still exists some problems like its single source,monotonousness and so on.Fourth,the factors of teaching years,qualifications and characteristics of different classes have impact on the teacher's application of nursery rhymes.Teacher's teaching years have significant influence on their ideas of the types of nursery rhymes enjoyed by children,common areas,teaching methods in children's favor,teachingresources of nursery rhymes and important teaching goals;Teachers' qualifications can influence their concept on the common types of nursery rhymes,its educational function as well as their teaching goals;Characteristics of different classes or grades that teachers teach have significant effects on the sources,types,education function,teaching methods and teaching goals of nursery rhymes.Based on the above conclusions,the researcher put forward a few Suggestions on education.
