Counselor is an important part of the construction of teachers in higher vocational colleges,which is an important guarantor of students' ideological education and healthy development.In this paper,the adaptation problem of new counselors is taken as the object of study.Through the questionnaire survey and interview,I study the way of the new counselors to adapt to the problem and its causes with the in-depth analysis,and have the corresponding strategy on the basis of targeted development,for protecting the long-term healthy development of counselors is also related to the stability of the overall teaching staff of vocational colleges and improving the efficiency of teachers and work quality has a very important role.Good positioning is an important basis for counselors to do their jobs.Counselor role has the unique orientation of character and role.Specifically for example,the counselors help student to form the correct idea of the guide,to lead a high quality learning life of the pilot,to have the plan of the career development project,to have the service of the career and employment and the mentor of the student's mental health,to manage the daily affairs.The requirement of positioning of the new counselor's job content and ability is the standards to new counselors.This paper investigates 45 new counselors in three exemplary vocational colleges in Hubei Province by using SPSS software to carry on the statistical analysis and combining with the interview of nine new counselors.The role of adaptation of new counselors is mainly focused on these,for example,the positioning is not clear,the understanding to counselor is not in place;the role conversion is difficulty which leads work is not efficient;the dislocation of new counselors practice is difficult to adapt to development requirements;low self-efficacy is easy to produce self-doubt;the occupational identity crisis leads the lack of professional beliefs.These are the problems and obstacles that the new counselor has done more in the course of his work.It should pay enough attention and carry out in-depth attribution analysis to understand the deep-seated reasons behind the development of problems and obstacles.Through the questionnaire survey and interview on the role adaption of new counselors,we got some reasons about the role adaption,including poor attention,low social recognition,high expectations,heavy stress and task with low remuneration,imperfect security mechanism,the responsibility to understand the deviation,indifferent professional beliefs.Precisely because of the existence of these factors,the new counselors are difficult to quickly adapt to job requirements,which also led directly to the new counselors work efficiency is not high.To the situation and reasons of role adaption,we can have the improvement of the society,colleges and universities and personality.The society should increase the emphasis on the vocational counselors and refine the functions to form a pragmatic role.And college should improve the management system to promote the role of adaptation and the role of new entourage conversion with the training.Of course,new entourage should also play their own subjective initiative,and face up to the role of conflict,and strive to improve their overall quality and innovation to solve the problem and adapt the work.
