Since 2007,China started to implement the free education policy for students in normal colleges,aiming at attracting more outstanding college students to throw themselves into the educational cause,encouraging them to commit their whole life to the cause of education.On the one hand,the implementation of this policy has relieved the deficiency of excellent teachers in the educational cause in China,and on the other hand,has offered college students coming from poor families the opportunities of education.Why should college students apply for free normal university? Do they recognize their own major? Are they willing to challenge themselves and pay back the society with better qualification and accomplish their special task? These questions has received the attention of all social walks.Literature review has found out that the promise of the students in their major is an important indicator of their thoughts in their major,the recognition of the students with their major and the eagerness for their future employment affects the students' attitude with their major,and the extent of input.While in some respects,the learning engagement of the students reflects their thoughts in major.Meanwhile,some empirical researchers have found out that the promise the students make to the major and the input in learning are indeed relevant.Therefore,the author decides to investigate the current situation of the promise the free normal students make on their major in normal universities and their input in study,and discuss their relationship.The research uses the Questionnaire for College Students on Their Promise in Major compiled by Lian Rong,et.al,and the Questionnaire of College Students' Input in Study to conduct questionnaire on the 155 free normal students on campus in Xinjiang Normal University.The recording and processing of the data obtained from the questionnaire will be completed with SPSS 21.0 statistical software.In accordance with the result obtained from descriptive analysis on professional promise and the input in learning,the author further conducts the differential examination on various variables,and relativity analysis and regression analysis on the promise they make on their major and the learning input.The results obtained from the research mainly including1.The professional commitment made by the specially educated free normal students is above average,which is in consistence with the previous research.In terms of the demographic variable,there has been conspicuous difference in terms of gender,nationality and places of origin in the promise they make in the major2.The overall input in learning of the specially educated free normal students is above average.In Demographic variable research,it turns out that the input in learning is greatly different in terms of gender,grade and place of origin.3.Through relativity analysis it is found that the promise in major and the input in learning is significantly positively related.The emotional commitment,specification commitment and ideal commitment have the highest relativity with the learning profit dimension of input in learning,while continued commitment has the highest relativity with the dimension of focus.4.Through analysis on the promise in major and the input in learning it can be concluded that the emotional promise in the major promise has 26.6% of the return of the explanatory power to the input in learning,and the regression coefficient is significant,which shows that affective commitment has a significant positive impact on learning engagement.
