Feasibility Study On Programming For Wushu Perfomance Major Of Xi'an Physical Education University

In recent years,With the booming of film-television industry,martial art shows its important value in art performance,and based on which,a lot of acrobatic fighting,swordsmen and Kung Fu films and TV plays are created.Consequently,the industry is of great demand for martial art performance,action director,action choreography and martial art director,which inspires the sports colleges to set up martial art-related majors like martial art performance and martial art film and television.However,as higher education institutions,they shall make feasibility research from various angles before setting a new major.This paper is titled with “Feasibility of Setting up Martial Art Film and Television Major at Xi'an Physical Education University” and is to systematically demonstrate the feasibility according to relevant provisions of Regulations for Setting up Undergraduate Majors of General Higher Education Institutes,summarize the problems existed and propose solutions,and provide a necessary reference for Xi'an Physical Education University's setting up this major.This paper finally draws the following conclusions:1.Major of martial art film and television aims to cultivate students to be engaged in martial art performance,action choreography,action director and martial art film and television production and editing for films and TV plays.With martial art learning and training as core contents,this major emphasis on cultivating students' performance ability,offering students systematic and in-depth knowledge and helping them possess high and professional ability.2.Xi'an Physical Education University's setting up martial art film and television major conforms to its school-running orientation of cultivating sports talents as principal task and development planning of serving the society and people.The need for martial art talents is stable and increasing,and this university has Martial Art Department,Sports Art Department,Sports Media Department,Sports Economics and Management Department as support.3.Supported by full-time teachers with broad and professional knowledge,Xi'an Physical Education University will be able to establish teaching guidance team in short time for martial art film and television major.It has sufficient funds,educational occupancies,books and reference materials,practice bases as well as professional talents cultivation program available.In general,it shows high feasibility for setting up this major.Considering the said problems,this paper hereby proposes several suggestions:1.Xi'an Physical Education University shall exercise teaching strategy of “training its existing teachers and introducing talents from the outside”.On the one hand,selecting teachers with sound martial art foundation and strong performance ability through martial art competitions or employing some from off campus;on the other hand,introducing the talents who are willing teach at higher education institutes and have sound martial art foundation and strong performance ability from local film and television companies of Xi'an,signing teaching contracts with them for long-term teaching,medium-term training or short-term lectures.2.Xi'an Physical Education University shall establish internship system of “two-way orientation and mutual benefit”.It shall,based on professional features of martial art film and television major,look for internship units from local film and television companies within or outside of Xi'an.On the one hand,it shall cultivate directional personnel so as to provide talents supply and support;on the other hand,it shall reach consensus with the internship units that such units will guarantee the internship posts are related to this major so as to improve students' internship quality.3.Xi'an Physical Education University shall prepare its major plan with “clear orientation and systematic content”.Firstly,it shall conduct systematic investigation on current development situation of martial art film and television industry,it shall determine the cultivation target of its core talents of this major.Thirdly,it shall formulate the talents cultivation program and plan in an all-round way based on its investigation results and orientation.
