Case Study For Course Planning Of The Super Sprint Orienteering Finals

Mainly using orienteering course planning of super sprint final as the research object,this article analyzes map courses of the 2008 Students Orienteering Championships,the 2010 Students Orienteering Championships,the 2012 Orienteering Championship,the 2014 Orienteering Championship and other national-level super sprint final based on case analysis method,aiming at dissecting its characteristics and the development relationship among each other.Through some methods like expert interviews,questionnaire,experimentation and mathematical statistics,this article also compares the advantages and disadvantages of all kinds of course setting methods,accordingly put forward solutions to some common problems,so as to come up with some new course settings for orienteering super sprint final:1.Based on this research,it isfound that orienteering referees,coaches and players have the same opinion on commonly used four types of star course planning method at present,which can satisfy the race scale and requirements of the super sprint in different degree,and reflect fair competition principle with high appreciation.2.According to the research,the double-branch tandem course with the highest rates of readability are the least complexwhilethe most complex multi-branch complex course with the highest course readability enjoys the lowest rates.Thus,there is a certain contradictory relationship between the readability of the map and the complexity of the course.It is advisable to improve the readability of the map within the competition rules to maintain the technical difficulty of the course by further combining and optimizing.3.The research found that the highest degree of comprehensive recognition is the multi-branch complex course.It is recommended that with multiple advantages,settingthe beginning at the center of the multi-branch star course planning is worth to practice.4.Experiments show that there is significantdifference in simulation of orienteering when getting to checkpointdirection-changingresults amongthe same distance from the right turn 30° and leftturn 90°,left turn 120°,rightturn 120°.It can be considered that acute angle effect exists in orienteering super sprint final course setting,and the course settingshould avoid the small angle,especially 30° when turning right,which is still necessary.
