Study On The Enhancement Of The Student Engagement Of Local University Students

How to enhance the student engagement is the premise and foundation for determining the academic level of college students,and it is also an important factor affecting the quality of personnel training in colleges and universities.Therefore,in view of the fact that the quality of personnel training in local colleges and universities needs to be improved,it is of great significance to carry out the research on the enhancement of the student engagement of colleges and universities.Based on the analysis of related theories of university student engagement and related literature,this article elaborates on the concept,structure and evaluation index system of university students' engagement.Based on the NSSE and NSSE-China questionnaires,the local colleges and universities have been compiled.The survey questionnaire of college student engagement in learning used H University as an example to conduct empirical study,and analyzed the current situation and problems of the student engagement of local colleges and universities.The results show that: the level of student engagement in local colleges and universities students is generally at a low level,and the scores of different types of student engagement are not the same;the level of university student engagement in local colleges and universities will vary due to individual differences among students,including professional differences have significant differences in the level of investment in learning.The level of student engagement will change due to differences in grades.The author analyzes the reasons for the existence of problems in local college students' engagement input from the perspectives of students' professional recognition,learning cognition,assessment system,curriculum setting and campus conditions.The main reason is low professional recognition,poor learning cognition,and teachers and students.The assessment system is not perfect,teaching courses are not well-established,and there is insufficient support for the campus.Based on the analysis of the status student engagement of local college students and the causes of the problems,the following five points are put forward in an targeted manner to enhance the innovative strategies of local college students' level of student engagement: First is to improve students' recognition of majors and to train students interest in professionallearning;Second is to enhance students' learning cognition and strengthen the cultivation of students' learning ability;Third is to improve the teacher-student assessment system,improve the assessment of students' learning input,and improve the teacher assessment system;And fourth,diversified teaching courses,transform existing teaching models,innovate teaching methods,and expand the platform for extracurricular activities;Fifth is to create good learning conditions for students,create a strong learning atmosphere,and strengthen infrastructure construction.
