The optional courses system has been gradually implemented by most ordinary high schools with the reform of the basic education course and entrance examination.The reform of the new curriculum for ordinary high school in Heilongjiang Province has gone through nine years since 2007.Up to now,some schools in the province are exploring the optional courses system.An optional course is one chosen by a student from a number of optional subjects or courses in a curriculum,as opposed to a required course which the student must take.This paper aims to research and investigate the implementation of the optional courses system of ordinary high school in Harbin,which involves the study on curriculum,faculties,optional courses system and educational resources.The author finds out,analyses and puts forward solutions to tackle the problems by referring to the study of foreign elective courses system of ordinary high school and the status quo in Heilongjiang Province.The paper is divided into five chapters.The first chapter illuminates the reasons,the research purposes and significance;reviews the research home and abroad;introduces some relevant concepts;defines the scope,framework and methods.The second chapter explains the research design from the point of methodology.First of all,the author determines the research contents and research methods according to the research aim;explains the questionnaire establishment process,tests and revises the reliability and validity of the questionnaire using the statistical software SPSS24.0 and confirm the final questionnaire.The Third chapter analyzes the status quo and degree of satisfaction of the optional courses system with the method of descriptive statistical analysis and mathematical statistics with the help of SPSS24.0.The fourth chapter sums up the problems from the curriculum,faculties,optional courses system and educational resources in the elective system of ordinary high school in Harbin and finds out the reasons.The fifth chapter searches the path from Optional courses system to Non-grade system Ordinary of high school in Harbin.
