To meet the need of the development of the society,vocational schools in China has developed a new curriculum known as English Dubbing Association.What made little difference was the traditional teaching and learning pattern applied in the English Dubbing Association,where dubbing was just a teaching-aid serving listening or film watching.Students were expecting English practice but they learned theoretically in return.Vocational students' enthusiasm for dubbing faded,which directly led to disappointing performance on their oral study and made the teacher's efforts inefficient.That's why the priority must be given to the improvement of the instructional design to encourage students to learn better and more efficiently in the vocational English dubbing association classroom.On the basis of domestic and foreign documentation,the study focuses on the implementation for the teaching of English Dubbing Association based on informational technology.According to the development of students' dubbing ability,the whole learning process is divided into three levels:Elementary Level-Intermediate Level-Advanced Level.The whole class consists of Before-class(warm-up),In-class(language-based dubbing learning)and After-class(team work),three of which all take advantage of informational technology.In this way,the practical teaching dilemma of vocational English Dubbing Association can be solved through the deep integration of information technology and curriculum teaching.To analyze the effectiveness of the instructional design,two dubbing associations in the same school have been selected for a practical study and the instruction based on informational technology is compared to an equivalent version of traditional one in the quasi-experimental design.After one semester of practice,research conclusions are as follows:The instruction based on informational technology is feasible,scientific and effective in the classroom teaching of Dubbing Association.Students' dubbing performance has greatly improved,especially in pronunciation,representability and innovation.The instruction based on informational technology plays a more positive role in the development of students' study habits and listening strategies than in communication strategies,because dubbing skills and accuracy in pronunciation have been the learning targets.Role-Playing is more suitable for outgoing students;Lecture is intended for academic students who are self-disciplined,independent thinkers and communicators;Intensive Reading and Detailed Explanation should be applied in the early stage;Considering the different characteristics between boy students and girl students,boys are more capable of handling Creative Dubbing while girls are more efficient in Separation Dubbing.
