The Status Research And Countermeasure Study About Adolescent Education In Children Of Migrant Workers In Yantai City

There are over 300 million youngsters aged 10-24 in China,of which about15 millon in Shandong province,while there are about 600 thousand youngsters in Yantai city including about 60 thousand migrant workers' children are in adolescent period.Adolescent period is a significant period for youngsters setting up their values and obtaining the essential skills,so that their healthy growth are concerned with the country's future.At present,in the one hand,we ignore the youngster's necessity to physical and mental health knowadge and therefore lack of the sufficient health service system.On the other hand,a great number of youngsters can't get the right sexual and reproductive health knowledge from the appropriate way and would be misleaded.With the development of the world globalization and the reform and opening up in our country,together with the earlier coming of adolescent while delaying of marriage age,youngster's sexual and reproductive health issues are becoming outstanding.Due to family environment,education background and society environment etc.,adolescent education in children of migrant workers is especially absent.Youngsters in adolescent period change a lot in physiology and mentality.If parents are busy with business or ignore youngsters' education,confusion and puzzle will happen to the youngster who don't have the appropriate way to settle the confusion,all those will effect the development of the migrant children which may at last lead to the unmarried pregnancy,birth and abortion.At the mean time,migrant children are the main infected population of venereal desease and AIDS,they also get the mental disease even worse commit a crime.So to provide the information and education service about sexual and reproductive knowladege is urgently needed.This research is based on the adolescent health theory and practice,with the expert work of teachers in our school,desgined the research questionnaire to youngsters and their parents separately and send them to the random selected junior and senior schools which have migrant children.Collecting back the questionaire after filled and interview some of them,then treated the questionnaire statistically and analyzed what caused the insufficient education to migrant children's adolescent knowladege.On this basic,with the guidance of the series book Path to Growing-up edited by China Family Planning Association,teachers in our school selected the part of preventing unplannedpregnancy and preventing venereal desease and AIDS infection as the main lectures to teach.Combined togher sexual physiology,sexual mental,sexual health,sexual ethics and ethics education,we create a new way of sexual education,build a structure of adolescent health education curricular system and carry it out targetly.The education form including kinds of reports,lectures,small size class teachings,on-site interactions,role plays,sand-table activities,games and individual consults.All above are to erect the suitable sexual ethics,to promote their changes in action,and to unity the knowing and doing,and so can help migrant children improve the cognitive level of “self-consciousness,self-protection,self-improvement”.And ultimately form an effective mechanism of adolescent health education which can supply the theory evidence to migrant children of other disctrict.
