Reading teaching as the main part of high school English teaching,it is an important situation in high school English teaching for a long time.Meanwhile,reading comprehension,the higher score and the big quantity is existed in regular test and college entrance examination.Both teachers and students treat them seriously.Cultural factoroften becomes a major obstacle in the process of reading.In response to this situation,the “Senior High School English CurriculumStandard”made the requirement to cultural awareness.Teachers should expand the scope of students' exposure to foreign cultures and help students to expand their horizons so that they can improve the sensitivity and discrimination of Chinese and foreign cultures.With the increasing development of teaching,English teachers have recognized the importance of culture teaching and used in the classroom.However,due to the influence of various factors,some problems still exist in reading teaching.On the one hand,students still can't understand the real intention of the author,neither can grasp the subject o the full text and opinions,even they know all the vocabularies and grammatical structures.On the other hand,most English teachers are accustomed to the traditional knowledge of cultural teaching model,the way of the cultural background of teaching still used the way of the "cultural introduction" of teaching ideas,namely,regard the culture as a factual knowledge to students.Although this way can make students understand the language and cultural knowledge in a short period of time,it ignored the subject status of students in learning.Students are passive to accept the target language cultural knowledge and lack of initiative.The acquisition of English culture depends on learners' perception and experience,not only depend on the teaching from teacher.In this case,in order to better grasp the cultural knowledge,to effectively improve the students' reading ability,the author used the conception of process-oriented culture teaching.Applied the model of process-oriented culture teaching from Huang Wenhong scholars,the author put the teaching model in the high school English classroom.Mainly explored two questions:(1)whether the process-oriented culture teaching mode is superior to the traditional culture teaching mode.(2)Whether the process-oriented cultural teaching can significantly improve students ' reading comprehensionThe author analyzes the concrete process of the process-oriented culture teaching model in the high school English teaching and uses this teaching model in the Grade two of the Harbin Fifth High School.After nearly four months of teaching,the author has analyzed the experimental results.Draw a conclusion that the process-oriented cultural teaching model has the positive influence in reading comprehension of students.The process-oriented cultural teaching model aims to encourage studentsexplore active,self-learning,reflection and learning Chinese and Western cultures.This way can significantly enhance the emotional level of reading ability,stimulate students' read interest.It is welcomed by the majority of students...
