Game is an essential activity throughout children's physical and psychological growth.As the fast development and wide use of Information Technology,digital education games which based on the mobile devices have become both education and entertainment resources for today's children who are often called as “the Digital Generation ”.By studying both the effect that education games have on the habit development of preschool children,and the certain demand of those children,we carried out the research on the design of an education game,which could be categorized as the development of children's positive behavior and habit.We mainly analyze the common problem that most of the education games would have: the imbalance between education content and entertainment context,and make a review of the research on this kind of education games both in China and overseas.With a concluded theory foundation,our research direction and technology route could be made.With the analysis on both preschool children's daily behavior which could be concluded as “habit” and psychological state,the types of education games specially designed for them,the design principle,framework and model could be established.Education games of the habit development for preschool should have a specific educational goal with a vivid storytelling;the character should be easy to recognized by children;the interaction system should be rich and easy.The model of design pattern for this could be divided into four parts: the choose of education goals;the analysis of education content;the selection of game types;the grand design of the game system.The education game “Enheng getting smaller” takes the balance between education content and entertainment context into consideration.The game is designed in the following steps: the analysis of foundation;the design of models;the design of modules;the realization by digital technology.We also carried out a usability test by releasing a game demo and conducting surveys.With gained data from users,we find out the practical meaning of our research and shortcomings in our research period.The finding is concluded and we make a discussion that hope our research could give a support to those related people in the development of this kind of education games.
