Teaching materials are the supporting materials of education content which teachers use in teaching process.How to choose the content of the textbook is the most important part of the textbook compilation.First of all,the first task of teaching materials is to convey knowledge to students,which is the basic task of teaching materials.Second,the teaching material should be able to reflect the status of a certain social and national culture,should help learners understand the essence of foreign culture and cultural similarities and differences between two kinds of cultures,and should help guide the learners to learn how to choose excellent culture,to improve cultural identification ability,and to set up the national pride and self-confidence.In addition,the textbook should be devoted to guiding students to cultivate correct outlook on life and values.Finally,the teaching material should combine a certain life style,to cultivate the student's aesthetic interest.The textbook should be closely related to the students' real life,and the choice of the language material should be with the flavor of The Times,and the expression form should be as rich and colorful as possible.What's more,the real language using situation is also an essential link.This kind of design atmosphere could help cause student's study interest,and arise student's learning motivation.Generally speaking,teaching material is the most basic foundation of teaching process.Primary school students are in the growth period of the value judgment and aesthetic temperament.This is a very pivotal period.If the selection of teaching material content is not appropriate,these contents will lead to misleading idea of Chinese culture.Therefore,we should pay attention to the selection of the content of English teaching materials,and select the contents of the teaching materials from the aspects of knowledge system,cultural characteristics,values and behaviors.The teaching material is the supporting material of the teaching content,and the excellent teaching materials should also be reflected in the teaching by the appropriate organization strategy.If we just have excellent teaching material without suitable organization strategy,culture and value in the textbook knowledge are also can not be express.What's more,students may receive misleading value.So,it is necessary to strictly control the content selection of the textbook andchoose the appropriate organizational strategy to organize the teaching material content in order to improve the development of studentsThis article selects the Angle of primary school English textbooks used in yantai,a survey of the teaching material content selection problems.The results show that this teaching material which is not good at logic is organized in unit and is regard daily communication as the theme.Therefore,firstly,this paper analyzes the current situation,problems and causes of this English textbooks carefully.Then,put forward suggestions and corresponding organizational strategies to promote English teaching.
