A national culture identifies its people's schooling,thinking mode,religion,value system,behavior and so on.National culture needs to be disseminated,preserved,accumulated and inherited by every Chinese people and national culture “going out” needs the efforts from bilingualists.Meanwhile,constant acceleration of globalization has brought people a problem of who they are.Many people go to study or live aboard and become are familiar with culture of other countries and can not introduce their own cultures to foreigners.The strange thing is that this phenomenon is not only unique for people who spend long time living abroad,but also for some Chinese people who learn English domestically and become the patients of “Chinese culture aphasia”.Building correct national cultural identification becomes very practically meaningful.Based on the literature review of this topic,there is little known of the national cultural identification education in junior middle school English teaching.The studies of the national cultural identification education are more concerning college teaching.This study focuses on the research of the strategies which can help to penetrate national cultural identification in English teaching of junior middle school.The period of junior middle school is a key stage for children's cultural cognitive development.In this phase,penetrating national cultural identification can help students come to right understanding of cultural identification.To this end,the writer adopts two ways to penetrate national cultural identification in real class: 1).horizontal expansion: It is a horizontal extension of the content of textbook,by comparing the teaching content with similar cultural phenomena between Chinese and English,to make a shift of students' emotion and cognition;2).vertical exploration: It is a strategy that students gain better understanding of the content of the book through exploring deep meanings behind the similar cultural phenomena,to properly handle cultural differences.What's more,the writer conducts two teaching experiments-case study & monthly-observation to see how the two strategies function with textbooks,and what results the strategies may achieve in real class.The result of study shows both horizontal expansion and vertical exploration can achieve good results in penetrating national cultural identification in class.
