With the enrollment expansion of colleges and universities, rising tuition fees, and the widening gap between the rich and the poor, the country is facing the problem of expansion of poverty-stricken students. It is expected that the improvement will be promoted by providing more educational opportunities for impoverished students. However, former studies shows that the unilateral emphasis on improving the economic conditions of poor students from the perspective of economic capital has not resulted in substantive results.Even poor students have been squandered after receiving grants and loans, bringing bad effects to their growth. Some negative effects are not conducive to the improvement of the quality of higher education. To design more targeted poverty-stricken student education policies,it is necessary to have real data on the academic outcomes of poor students and to analyze in depth the factors that affect their academic outcomes. Therefore,it is necessary to use N University as an example to investigate the status of the impoverished students' academic outcomes and to analyze the causes, and to use them to create a favorable environment for them?According to the research status, there are four research questions proposed in this thesis:First,is the academic achievement of poor college students in the upper or middle and lower reaches of the specialty?Second,is there a difference in the achievement of academic achievement among poor urban students and poor rural students?Third, what are the causes of problems in the academic outcomes? Finally, based on the analysis of Bourdieu's capital theory, how can impoverished students and schools effectively improve their academic performance? The author picked 15 poor students in fourth grade students from five departments of N University, including but not limited to "three-poor students" from remote areas, including their academic grades, knowledge and skills, and their awards. On this basis, interviews were used to gain insights into the life experience behind them.Based on the interviews, the results are:1.the study of poor students in N universities has shown that a few impoverished students have excellent academic performance;most students are in the middle and lower status.Although they do not perform so well at the time of entry, they do not meet the requirements of N universities.2.Overview of the academic outcomes of impoverished students in N universities. There are differences in academic outcomes between urban students and rural students.Rural impoverished students perform better in obtaining skills certificates, urban students are also more likely to be in psychological difficulties.3.Problems reflected in the survey of academic achievement in N universities.Poverty-stricken students in the university period are in the "period of contradictions" in psychology.Their personality is mostly low self-esteem and co-existence.They are easy to be influenced by the outside environment, and they easily give up in the face of setbacks. The analysis shows that there are mainly three aspects of the impact of capital on the academic outcomes of poverty in colleges.First,it comes from the influence of cultural capital. It mainly includes the professional choices and expectations, their awareness of higher education, and their sense of superiority reconstruction. The second is the impact from economic capital, which mainly includes the incomes affect the poor students' learning time and energy;the third is the influence from social capital, which mainly includes affecting poor students and gaining rich learning experiences. Finally, based on the above analysis, the author proposes some advices from the perspective of impoverished students and schools. The impoverished students should solve the problems of self-esteem and establish self-confidence;improve learning methods, improve learning efficiency, pay attention to the cultivation of knowledge and skills and make clear self-planning.Schools should optimize the system of economic system, enhance teachers' learning and assistance for impoverished students, formulate appropriate teaching management policies, create a good campus culture and use technology to accurately economic assistance.
