Professional English,in this dissertation,means English for Specific Purposes,or ESP for short,which refers to English related to a specific occupation,subject,or purpose.Since 80% of the current English-language text exchanges are via ESP,ESP teaching and learning is an important domain for the internationalization of higher education in China.The ESP Course of Educational Technology is an advanced course recommended by Advisory Committee of Educational Technology Teaching in Higher Education of Ministry of Education,P.R.China.The course is of great significance for students in accessing foreign language literature,understanding international research progress,and facilitating international academic exchanges.It is known that ESP instruction of Educational Technology currently has many terminologies,complex phrases,complicated sentence structures,and difficult-to-understand meanings in special situation.When post-graduates study professional English,the preparatory stage is important for the future in-class learning.After a survey among post-graduate students together with an interview with ESP teachers,it can be known that the resources received by the learners in the pre-class stage are relatively monotonous,and the learners' need on the pronunciation and the interactive activities was not satisfied,which has a great influence on the in-class learning and vocabulary mastery.In order to ensure the effective learning in ESP and the mastery of terminology in Educational Technology,the literature analysis is carried in this study to explore the theoretical basis for the instruction of ESP vocabulary.The research about the status quo of learning resource is operated by questionnaires and interviews on main problems and causes of post-graduates' ESP learning difficulties.A design-based research is taken for preparatory resources of ESP lexical learning,with the goal of developing vocabulary,courseware,and micro-lecture.Based on the online learning platform,the pre-class learning resource are applied.Through the feedback of learning activities,it was verified that the vocabulary learning resources developed in this study have improved the students' lexical learning in ESP of Educational Technology.The goal of effective convergence between pre-class and in-class has been achieved.
