The rapid development of information technology has profoundly changed the way people work and live. At the same time it brings a strong impact on traditional education, pushing forward the profound reform of educational theory, educational idea, teaching mode and teaching method. Under this kind of developing trends, the online learning platform rises rapidly, which not only can stimulate students’ interest in learning, enhance learning motivation, but also can help to develop students’ independent learning and independent exploration ability. At present, the application of online learning platform to support learning and teaching has become a trend, winning more and more attention and love of students and teachers.The chemistry of junior high school covers a wide range of knowledge and concept, and the relations among them are complex. In addition, some micro knowledge in chemistry is rather abstract. At present, there are some online learning platform at home and abroad to aid the teaching and learning of chemistry. However, these platforms are mostly resource-based system with unitary function, and the interaction is poor. Moreover, experiment is an important content of the chemistry teaching and an important means to cultivate students’ practical ability, but those platforms does not provide any related functions. The result of these weaknesses is that the current chemical online learning platform could not fully meet the actual needs of teaching and learning.According to actual needs of junior high school chemistry teaching and learning, a junior high school chemistry online learning platform is designed and implemented in this dissertation, the main research contents of which include:1. The related theories of the design and development of junior high school chemistry online learning platform are discussed and summarized, the means and methods of integrating information technology with subject teaching are analyzed, and the key technologies used in the development of the platform are introduced.2. Based on the subject characteristics of junior middle school chemistry and the cognitive features of students, combined with the needs of mobile learning, the function requirements of the junior middle school chemistry online learning platform are analyzed, and a system architecture with functional modules of online e-books resources, resource download, online discussion, simulation experiment, online testing and feedback is put forward.3. The design and detailed implementation of each functional module of online learning platform is discussed and proposed, and the resulted function modules are combined into an online learning platform.4. Based on the learning and teaching of the knowledge point of the "carbon dioxide, " the overall function of the platform is demonstrated.This dissertation embodies the integration of information technology and subject teaching, and the idea and method in this research could provide a reference for the design and development of similar platform.
