Logarithm is the content of the third chapter of the edition of Beijing Normal University, which is one of the difficulties in learning for high school students. The difficulties consist in the concept, operation and image properties. Thus,it is necessary to study the reasons of the difficulty in logarithm learning and provide some teaching strategy for first-line teachers and students. This research is based on the relative theories of Vygotsky,Piaget and Bruner;the research methods include literature review, questionnaire, interview and education observation;the object are the students and teachers in famous-university class,top-university class and hope class in Nanyang Xichuan First High School;this research analyzes the causes of the difficulty in logarithm learning through the logarithm learning, mathematical abstract thinking and mathematical reverse thinking. We discover in our research that the difficulties for students consist in understanding the concept of logarithm, using the logarithmic operations flexibly and distinguishing the logarithmic images form the exponential images. And the reason lies in the weak mathematical abstract thinking and mathematical reverse thinking of the students.According to our analysis,we propose some relevant teaching strategy.Firstly,in order to cultivate the abstract thinking ability, the teachers should create corresponding situation in teaching, teach from the easy to the difficult, innovate various ways to teach and make students do more practice.Secondly, teachers should pay attention to using formulas reversely in selection of exercises and question design to cultivate students' reverse thinking ability. The researcher implements the above teaching strategy in the process of teaching the concept of logarithm and finds that it helps the students to have a better understanding of the concept of logarithm.
