Track and field is a key point of PE teaching in middle schools.It plays an important role in the middle school physical education syllabus,and is also the core curriculum in PE teaching.Athletics has a lot of sports,and these programs have a high value for exercise,and track and field is the foundation for other sports.Because of the different classification of sports,the nature of sports is different,and the nature of track and field determines the entertainment and interest of the course teaching.So many students feel boring for the track and field sports,so learning interest and learning enthusiasm will also decreases,causing many students don't like the track and field course,is not willing to track and field lessons.That has changed since American expert Howard Gardner's theory of multiple intelligencations.Multiple intelligence theory has been applied to the subject in the teaching of the theory is that everyone has their own advantages,have their own style,therefore teaching should be in the development of each person,on the basis of the intelligence of the brain,for students to choose a variety of scenarios,diverse choices for everyone,stimulate students' potential.This paper introduces the theory into track and field teaching,hoping that it can mobilize the enthusiasm and interest of students to learn and promote the development of athletics.This paper adopts education experiment method,document data method,field test method,mathematical statistics method and so on,and selects two schools as the research object,one key middle school,one non-key middle school.Then,two rounds of teaching experiments were conducted,in which the experimental class used the theory of multiple intelligences,and the control class followed the traditional teaching method.Is a key middle school in the first round of experiments,the second is a key middle school experiment,strictly control experiments in the experimental process factors of equilibrium,in class 32 experiment after the end of time,the author concludes that the traditional teaching and the theory of multiple intelligences teaching can improve students' grades,but under the theory of multiple intelligences teaching student 100 meters result was slightly higher than that of the traditional teaching student performance.Then the author with multiple intelligence evaluation questionnaire of student performance in the second test,found with the theory of multiple intelligences teaching students in interpersonal skills,ability of social adaptation,reflection ability,language ability,visual spatial intelligence,intelligence,learning motivation and learning interest has a corresponding increase.
