Howard Gardiner's theory of multiple intelligences has been widely used in the educational field since its advent in the 1980 s.It was introduced into China in 1990 s,which is in accordance with the concept of quality education,and it has been widely spread in China.Gardiner puts forward the idea that intelligence is the ability of individuals to solve their real problems or the ability to produce and create effective products in a certain social or cultural environment.Everyone has a relatively independent multiple intelligence that is organically combined in different ways and degrees,so everyone's intelligence has its own characteristics.The theory of multiple intelligences provides an open platform for the realization of the all-round development of students and the development of students' personality,which is beneficial for teachers to carry out the teaching of democratization and individuation and is beneficial for students to get the development of subjectivity and creativeness.This thesis analyzes the theory of multiple intelligences and the research situation of the teaching of High School Tourism Geography through consulting the relevant literature.This thesis analyzes the present situation of the application of multiple intelligence in the teaching design of High School Tourism Geography through the method of interview and questionnaire.The geography teachers differ greatly in teaching in the use of multiple intelligences between urban schools and rural schools.The teachers in the city school have a strong professional quality,the school policy is open,and the theory of multiple intelligences is widely used.However,the school policies in rural areas are relatively traditional,and the application of multiple intelligences is not as good as that of urban schools.The multiple intelligences of students in high school have the characteristics of unbalanced development.Therefore,this thesis not only presents the method that multiple intelligence theory is combined with teaching design of High School Tourism Geography from the teaching objectives,teaching contents,teaching methods,teaching process,extracurricular activities,teaching evaluation,but also it puts forward the development of multiple intelligences and the specific strategies for optimizing the teaching design of tourism geography.Finally,the thesis applies teaching design and practice of multiple intelligences theory combining with the class of High School Tourism Geography 3 “Tourism Resources” on the basis of theoretical and practical research,which confirms the practical significance of this research by case analysis.
