Classroom questioning is a teaching activity that is widely used.Teachers and students communicate with each other in the process of questioning in class. It can inspire the students' thinking and arouse their interests in learning.Teaching history in middle schools not only transfers historical knowledge to students, but also trains students' ability to discover, analyze and solve problems.According to the students' performance in answering questions, the teachers could know whether the students has grasped the knowledge and how to improve the teaching.Classroom questioning plays a very important role in the teaching of history in middle schools. Therefore, the research on class questioning becomes very meaningful. This article takes the video of the 5th National Teaching Skills Competition for Undergraduates Majoring in History as the research material. It studies the history majors' existing problems in the classroom questioning from five aspects. The preface introduces the origin of this topic, related researches at home and abroad, the writing ideas and the materials used in the article. The first chapter introduces the teaching skills of current history students in colleges and universities, especially the status of questioning skills in the classroom. The second chapter analyzes the lack of classroom questioning skills of current history majors in colleges and universities, including setting questions casually and without difficulty. At the same time, the types of questions are homogeneous and the expression of the questions is ambiguous. The third chapter proposes three measures to improve the history majors' teaching skills, such as reasonable control of quantity and time, increasing the inquiry variety and enriching the ways and means of asking questions. The fourth chapter puts forward suggestions for improvement based on the problems existing in cultivating students in normal universities, including setting college teachers as examples to the students;cultivating the awareness of problem-solving in normal college students and strengthening the professional training in teaching.Through researching on the performance of the contestants in this competition,we have found that the students in normal colleges and universities still lack abilities of classroom questioning. Most of them lack the awareness of problems and cannot improve the quantity and quality of questions as well as the variety of inquiry. Therefore, the normal colleges and universities should not only teach how to teach, but also help the students develop the ability of classroom questioning,so that they can become qualified middle school history teachers.
