In1949-2000, our higher teacher education gained great development after overcoming many difficulties. High normal colleges and universities’ teaching activities and its achievements during the51years is not only a integral part of the overall development of higher teacher education, but also is an important driving force of it. In this paper, according to relevant theories and principles in the study of education activities history of China, the author try to do a specific, typical, describe the whole development of teaching activities of high teacher academies in half of century after the new China founded, including the teaching management activities, the teaching and practice activities, the assessment of academic activities, by using literature method, historical method, comparative method and other educational research methods. Then the author try to explore the rhythm of its development and summarize its intrinsic qualities. And attempt to put forward some suggestions to improve the quality and level of the high normal colleges and universities’teaching activities in the21st century so as to achieve a better and faster development of our country’s higher teacher education.
